The August Bank Holiday (also known as the Summer Bank Holiday) is almost here. If you're heading to Daresbury this year, you already know Creamfields is 4 days of massive electronic music in the UK. For the festival’s 20th anniversary at Daresbury in 2026, globally known artists such as Disclosure will be performing at Creamfields for the first time.
You’ll get a chance to see some of the 250+ artists, explore 30 stages, and stay in a campsite.
This guide is what we wish someone had told us the first time. We’ll cover tickets, camping, travel, packing, outfits, stages, and everything you need to know before you get to Daresbury, Cheshire.
Read it, sort your kit, and show up ready.
Creamfields is a 4-day electronic dance music (EDM) festival held every August Bank Holiday weekend at Daresbury Estate in Cheshire. It’s a massive rave of intense light shows, heavy bass, and huge structures. The atmosphere sits somewhere between Parklife Festival’s city energy and Tomorrowland’s production scale.

Liverpool's Cream nightclub founded the festival in 1998 in Winchester, Hampshire, before it eventually moved to its current home in Daresbury in 2006.
Over the weekend, over 250 artists will perform across 30 stages. We’ve previously gone through the festival, and these main venues can define your experience:
Stage |
Type |
Capacity / Notes |
APEX |
Indoor arena |
Largest stage; holds around 30,000 people; one of the primary headline venues, hosting major sets including the Martin Garrix APEX Takeover on Saturday and Swedish House Mafia on Sunday |
Steel Yard |
Indoor |
Large club-style venue (feels like a warehouse rave), used for major headline sets |
Arc |
Outdoor |
Curved main outdoor stage; one of the most photographed structures at the festival |
Generator |
Indoor |
Techno and underground-focused programming |
Halo |
Indoor |
Known for harder electronic sounds, popular with the late-night crowd |
Arc is where many of the biggest headliners play across all 3 days, so plan your schedule around it first. Steel Yard fills up quickly, so arrive early for any set you care about. Arc is best for daytime sets when the outdoor atmosphere is at its peak.
We like it for its towering, curved structure, which hosts some of the biggest headliners who also perform at other major electronic music festivals, like Parklife and Lollapalooza. The festival also provides a wellness area, an on-site gym, and food villages across the site.
Creamfields 2026 runs Thursday, August 27, to Sunday, August 30. Thursday is primarily for campsite arrivals and getting yourself set up, while the full festival itself runs Friday through Sunday.

Daresbury Estate sits near Warrington, roughly halfway between Manchester and Liverpool. Both cities are around 30 to 40 minutes away by car, and the site connects easily via the M56 motorway. Once you enter the motorway, you’ll see the open fields and stage structures of Creamfields.
Aside from enjoying the music, prepare for the weather. Daytime temperatures can reach 68°F, while nighttime temperatures can drop to 55°F. Heavy rains and strong winds are also common every Creamfields weekend, so expect the ground to get muddy.
The Creamfields lineup brings Martin Garrix, Disclosure, Tiësto, and Calvin Harris to Cheshire. Here are the most-awaited performers you don’t want to miss out:
Day |
Headliners and Notable Acts |
August 27 (Thursday) |
Arrival day for campers, no main stage performances |
August 28 (Friday) |
Disclosure, Chris Stussy, John Summit, Carl Cox |
August 29 (Saturday) |
Calvin Harris, Alesso, Martin Garrix, Amelie Lens |
August 30 (Sunday) |
Tiësto, Swedish House Mafia, Sonny Fodera, Becky Hill |
Some of the biggest performers in EDM commonly perform on Saturday and Sunday, so expect higher ticket costs and tighter crowds on those days.
Download the official Creamfields app for the live updates, and check the full lineup on their website.
Creamfields 2026 tickets are available in day, weekend, and camping options across 4 comfort tiers: Standard, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. All camping passes are sold out as of May 2026.
Compared to previous years, Creamfields ticket costs have increased year by year. But in 2026, only the Saturday pass increased in price. The lowest cost per ticket tier is now as follows:
Days |
Price |
Friday |
£75+ |
Saturday |
£125+ |
Sunday |
£125+ |
2 Days (Friday + Saturday) |
£180+ |
2 Days (Saturday + Sunday) |
£200+ |
3 Days (Non-camping) |
£275+ |
4 Days (Camping) |
£290+ |
Be sure to download the Official Creamfields App before you arrive. Your ticket lives inside it, and it is the best way to track set times and live schedule updates.
Day tickets work best for locals or anyone planning to commute rather than camp. You need to arrive early to enjoy the stages and head home at the end of the night.
Tip: Choose one Standard day ticket for now if you're new to Creamfields, so you can get a feel of one full festival day first before committing to the full weekend.
Weekend non-camping tickets suit anyone who wants to experience more of the lineup but chooses to stay in a hotel, Airbnb, or with friends nearby.
You’ll make the most of the Saturday + Sunday 2-day tickets if you’re after the most globally recognized artists. But the 3-day pass makes the most sense if you want to catch the whole lineup.
Camping turns Creamfields into a full 4-day festival. Compared to Standard Camping, Bronze, Silver, and Gold offer a higher level of comfort, with quieter campsites, better facilities, and shorter walks to the Event Arena. The Gold passes also include services such as 1 free meal a day.
The festival also offers 3-month payment plans with a £20 deposit, so you can still enjoy it despite budget concerns. Monthly payments range from £21.33 to £143.33, depending on your ticket type.
Daresbury sits roughly 30 to 40 minutes away by car from Manchester and Liverpool. Most Creamfields attendees arrive by car, train, or coach. Meanwhile, the drive from Leeds and Birmingham will take about 1.5 hours. But anyone coming from London needs to allow almost 4 hours of travel time since it’s about 200 miles away from Cheshire.
Drivers should exit at junction 11 of the M56 and follow festival signage from there. Pre-booking a parking pass is the cheapest option, and the deadline is on August 14 (August 7 for international customers). You can also purchase car park passes during festival days.
Expect queues on Thursday afternoon and Friday evening when the bulk of attendees arrive. Once parked, the walk to the festival gates runs around 15 to 20 minutes, so pack light for that stretch and save your energy for the weekend ahead.
The closest train stations to Creamfields are Runcorn Station, Warrington Central, Warrington Bank Quay, and Liverpool Lime Street. Creamfield shuttle buses run from Warrington, Liverpool, and Manchester. You can pre-book your shuttle bus tickets at a lower cost, or buy them on festival days (except in Manchester).
Taxis and Uber are also available, but surge pricing during festival hours can make them more expensive, especially late at night when everyone is heading home at the same time.
Big Green Coach has been the official Creamfields travel partner for 17 years now, with festival coach packages running from 58 UK cities. Your options for bundle travel include arriving on Thursday or Friday and returning on Monday, the day after the festival finishes. They also offer next-day return travel for Friday and Saturday arrivals.
You won’t worry about M56 traffic stress with Coach travel, so you step off with your energy intact and your festival clothes already packed and ready to go.
Yes, camping at Creamfields is worth it for anyone who wants to enjoy the full 4-day experience without worrying about the travel.
There are different camping ticket tiers: Standard, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Dreamfields (doesn’t include festival tickets). The main difference between tiers comes down to comfort, facilities, and walking distance to the arena.

Standard Camping is the cheapest way to stay on-site and the best option if it’s your first camping festival. Expect basic toilet facilities, late-night noise from neighboring tents, and a campsite atmosphere (a little chaotic, honestly, but in the best way).
Note that even with a camping ticket, there is no re-entry once you leave the festival site. Make sure you have everything you need before entering, since you’ll be staying there for 4 days.
Bronze, Silver, and Gold Camping cost at least £40 higher than Standard Camping, but you get quieter campsites and better facilities with closer access to the Event Arena.
Bronze gets you improved toilets and a calmer environment, while Silver adds hot showers and charging points, which, after 2 days on-site, feels like an absolute luxury.Gold goes further with access to the Hospitality Arena, dedicated facilities, and the closest camping position to the stages.
For most attendees, Silver hits the sweet spot between comfort and price without pushing into full hospitality territory.
The Dreamfields category offers luxury camping but without festival tickets. Your tent is pre-pitched, with choices ranging from simple pre-pitched setups to fully furnished bell tents with proper bedding. Dreamfields Campsite also offers group camping for up to 8 people.
(Note: As of May 23, 2026, all camping passes, from Standard to Dreamfields tiers, are already sold out. Standard single, non-camping days are still available on their website.)
Camping for 4 days can be challenging, especially because you’re not allowed to leave the festival site and go to the nearest store in case you forgot something. Pack the following camping essentials first for a hassle-free weekend:
Tent, sleeping bag, and roll mat
Wellies and a spare pair of shoes (the site can get really muddy)
Warm layers for overnight temperatures
Dry bags to protect your gear
Headlamp for navigating the campsite at night
Food and a small stove
Check the Creamfields website, as some items you can bring to the campsite might be banned in the Event Arena (for example, food and speakers).
Creamfields allows bags no larger than A4 (8.27x 11.69 inches) in the Event Arena, with strict no-glass and no-re-entry policies.
Add these items to your checklist for what to bring to Creamfields Festival:
Festival ticket and photo ID
Cash, debit card, or payment card
Small A4-sized bags for the Event Arena
Sealed water bottles (plastic only)
Camping essentials (tent, sleeping bag, roll mat, etc.)
Bluetooth headphones
Portable phone chargers
Sunscreen and lip balm
Campsite alcohol (1 x 24 can/plastic crate of beer/cider or drink of choice & 1 L of spirit or wine in a plastic bottle/box per person)
Festival map and schedule downloaded to your phone
For items to avoid, take note:
Glass of any kind
Alcohol in the Event Arena
Metal water bottles and flasks
Professional cameras or recording equipment
Portable speakers inside the Event Arena
Illegal substances
Fireworks, flares, smoke canisters, or pyrotechnics
Large backpacks or suitcases
Large umbrellas, gazebos, or unauthorized structures
Any item considered dangerous, offensive, or likely to cause disruption
If you’re not sure what to bring, check the official website for the full list. Festival rules can change from year to year, so always check the latest updates for guidance.
Age and ID Requirements: Creamfields is strictly 18+. Challenge 21 checks are conducted at the gates, meaning anyone who appears to be under 21 must show a valid ID (passport, driving license, or PASS card). Turning 18 during the festival weekend does not count as meeting the entry requirement.
Creamfields is more strict when it comes to what you can bring to the Event Arena compared to what you can bring to the campsite. Here is what to pack for the festival to ensure you’re ready to face a full party day ahead:
Waterproof jacket or poncho
Plastic reusable water bottle
Portable phone charger
Sunscreen and lip balm
Earplugs
Cash and card
Valid ID
Bluetooth headphones
Official Creamfields App downloaded and ready
More essential items are available on our festival essentials checklist, so check it out as you pack your bag.
Creamfields-style runs sparkly and layered for most festival-goers. Wear bodysuits (one-piece fitted garments), mesh, sequins, and rhinestones to stand out. The typical aesthetic leans into metallics, reflective fabrics, and pieces that catch stage lighting from every angle.
Our best pick is this Fernanda rhinestone bodysuit. We like it for its solid base layer that holds up across a full night of dancing. Go with this Juliana sequin diamond bodysuit if you want to catch the light beautifully under the APEX rig.
Pair them with our comfortable, ankle-supportive festival boots. They can handle soft ground far better than trainers (we know that feeling when the ground turns muddy after some rain). Don’t forget a waterproof jacket that fits into your day bag.

Yes, Creamfields is strictly age 18 and above, and attendees should expect Challenge 21 ID checks at entry. Accepted forms of ID include a passport, a driving license, or a PASS card. Turning 18 during the festival weekend does not meet the entry requirement. If you cannot present a valid ID at the gate, you will not be allowed to enter, regardless of your ticket (which is non-refundable).
Yes, Creamfields has a wide mix of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free food vendors across the festival site. The food village spreads across multiple areas, so you are never far from something to eat. Outside food is not allowed inside the Event Arena, but campers can bring their own food and cook at the campsite.
Small portable speakers are allowed in camping areas but not inside the Event Arena. The staff can confiscate speakers if they are too loud. Bluetooth headphones are fine to use throughout the festival, so those are always the safer option if you want your own soundtrack between sets.
Yes, but it helps to know what you are walking into.
Creamfields is a large, well-organized festival, but the scale catches first-timers off guard. The site is big, so walking from your campsite to the Event Arena (and between stages) adds up across the day. Budget for tired legs by day two.
Here’s our practical tips for first-timers:
Start with a day ticket if you are unsure. It is the lowest-commitment way to experience the festival before booking a full camping pass.
Download the app and plan your must-see sets before arriving. Going through 30 stages spontaneously is harder than it sounds.
Arrive early on Thursday if camping to get a good tent spot before the site fills up.
The weather will probably be bad for at least one day. Pack for it from the start rather than hoping.
Agree on a meeting point with your group before entering. Phone signal gets patchy inside the arenas.
Still deciding? Try it out and see for yourself. You don't want to miss your favorite DJs, fireworks, and epic festival moments while scrolling through festival clips online.
